All those who know me, know my love for the colour red. And it was the red shoes that Felicity was wearing as a guest to Michelle and Andre’s wedding almost 2 years ago that caught my attention. I had to photograph them almost immediately! They were so cute! So when I turned up at Balmoral Beach last Sunday for a portrait session with the newly engaged Michelle and Lincoln and their two girls, they knew there would be a big smile on my face with all the red clothing that was present!

Lincoln and I have been chatting on Facebook since that wedding and it was so exciting to see how their relationship progressed to the next level – especially hearing about the designing of the ring! I love getting to know their clients and really understand the story that leads to their wedding day.

We spent a beautiful winter’s afternoon at Balmoral beach. I honestly felt a part of the family as I was welcomed with big hugs from Gelly and Fi. I believe that being a part of the session is just as important as capturing what is happening. Everyone has to feel comfortable.

I am looking forward to your two-day wedding in October and learning more about the Vietnamese culture!

We were going to do a lovely portrait session under the Harbour Bridge where Adam proposed but a wedding was being set up so we decided a stroll through the Rocks would be better. We dodged many tourists and did very well to get so many shots where Fiona and Adam felt like they were in their own little world. I promised a trip to the pub to keep Adam happy and also some greenery for Fiona. We enjoyed a lovely mix of the heritage of the Rocks and a green garden. I was very impressed with Fiona’s heels and the way she could work it for the camera!

I first met Melanie and Antony when they asked me to take photos for their businesses. They are a very funky couple and run businesses in graphic design and social media (among other things). We had a lot of fun doing a more relaxed style of commercial portraits and even snuck in some smoochy ones at the end of the session. When they came back from an incredible trip to India and Nepal they told me they were engaged.

Melanie runs the graphic design business Creative Tank and she has helped me with developing my new branding which will be launched at the end of June. She worked tirelessly to make sure I was happy with my logo. She has so many great ideas and links it with your vision for your business. I highly recommend her services. Message me if you want some more information.

Now to the ‘In-Love’ Session! Many laughs were had as Mel and Ant enjoyed champagne and cake at their gorgeous picnic spot under a big old tree in Centennial Park. Not sure how much champagne was actually drunk but Antony was very willing to frolic through the countryside without my prompting ;) Please enjoy the gorgeousness that is Mel and Ant!

We played chicken with the rain all day and won. Naomi and Nick got ready together and decided to have their location photos before the ceremony which proved to be the right decision because after the ceremony it did not stop raining! They successfully pulled off a relaxed celebration with close friends and family at Brought Mill farm B&B just outside of Berry. The South Coast of NSW has the most beautiful farmland and around Berry everything is green, green, green! Naomi and Nick chose to go with autumn themed colours with a focus on orange, brown and greens. Naomi wore a 50s inspired dress for the location photos and for the ceremony got changed into her mum’s wedding dress. As well as doing some fun photos at the farm we took a drive to Saddleback Mountain at the back of Kiama and took some shots whilst watching the massive rainstorm roll in. The darkening sky was maginificent to watch and we just made it in time back to the car before it started bucketing down. Naomi and Nick are now moving to England and will spend 3-4 months cycling across Europe for their honeymoon – a trip they have been dreaming about for a long time.

Dress – 1950s Vintage off Ebay and Naomi’s mother’s wedding dress from the 70s. / Ceremony and Reception Venue – Broughton Mill Farm B&B / Flowers – Always Flowers at Kiama / Pure Hair and Makeup (Pure Health) at Berry / Celebrant – Ritefully by Nicola Sinclair    /   Nick’s Suit – Russell Wade Clothing (custom suit)
