I love that Fiona brought all different colours and items together to make up the personality of their wedding. The Billy Button flowers, the origami cranes on the table, the cute banner on top of the cake and the little props for the formal photos to make them look less formal ;) I loved their willingness to try out something random like standing on a seat not sitting on it and also their relaxed nature. The day ran smoothly, no rain and the guests were having a blast. Verde Restaurant was very good – service and food and offers an intimate atmosphere for smaller weddings. Thank you Fiona and Shane for trusting me and allowing me and my ‘twin’ to be a part of your day.

Alison was very relaxed the morning of the wedding just enjoying the whole experience of being a bride and this continued throughout the day despite the rainy ceremony. I am very lucky to have clients who are happy to accept the day as it comes. They will not let the weather ruin their day and at the beginning of the reception Alison said to me: “Gemma, thanks for everything, we have had the best day so you just go off and do what you do best, capture those candid moments.”

Ceremony: Camellia Gardens, Caringbah.

Reception: Summersalt Restaurant, Cronulla.

Luke proposed on a romantic rainy Paris day at a restaurant during their big European holiday last year. Sarah contacted me while they were still on their trip asking about booking me! She was super excited and had followed my photos since she had seen her brother’s engagement photos earlier in the year. When they came back it was plan, plan, plan!! They were looking for a barn with fairy lights to have their big party but then stumbled across Sylvan Glen and decided that the barn could be passed in for lovely, accomodating owners and a venue with accomodation and a golf course. The main goal was to make sure their guests had a good time and as a witness I can say that was definitely achieved! The benefits of having a wedding all in one location!!

Sarah’s theme and focus was to have fun and then add dashes of colour. It is the Sylvan Glen owner’s style that is also shown throughout the venue – vintage, shabby chic and a love of the word LOVE and hearts – so beautiful! Sarah made the Bride and Groom seating titles and also sewed a little Charlotte’s Web charm onto her dress as she had read that it was good luck to find a spider in your dress on the wedding day. Please enjoy the great celebration of Sarah + Luke!  Congrats!

Annie and Dan, or what I like to call them now – Dannie (like Brangelina!) had an incredibly relaxed wedding at the Mandalay on Saturday. Everything was very well organised by Annie and Dan was the appreciative husband in his speech. I was touched by Dan’s heartfelt speech to his parents (yes there were tears on my part) and I also laughed at the childhood stories that his sister, Vanessa had to tell! Please enjoy these pics from what seemed like the perfect wedding day (we will ignore the humidity part)!
